Secondary students have been working on a carpentry program this week and the feedback about their participation, respectfulness and engagement has been outstanding. Families can be so proud of secondary students at Mount Magnet.
You may have noticed some students coming home with literacy badges. We are in a competition with some Murchinson schools for a rather spectacular literacy cup. The Principal of Cue sent me a photo of a cup already but I can assure everyone that is fake news and just some friendly rivalry.
The Cup will be awarded by an independent person in Week 8 of this term and displayed at the winning school. The real purposes of the competition is to encourage students across the Murchinson to acquire solid literacy skills. Good literacy is one of the main reasons and points of going to school.
Please praise up your children if they come home with a badge.
Special welcome to Miss Ross and welcome back to Mrs King. At the moment there are no Kindergarten enrolments for 2024 so we will begin planning a different class structure for 2024 in a couple of weeks time. If you have been meaning to get around to it, please do that as soon as you can. Excellent work by so many students this week.
We are very proud of them.

Double enjoyment by using food from our very own garden in our cooking class. Then enjoying a very mouth watering bite! Delightful!
Boosting our literacy skills with high impact targeted teaching and having fun and challenges along the way. Having so much fun with the vibrant personalities at the Variety Bash. Students immersed in a comprehensive state-wide webinar focused on online safety. This engaging and highly effective lesson ensures our students well-being in the digital realm.
Hi Everyone
Welcome to Term 4!
I hope you all enjoyed the break from school. It's lovely to see students back to school ready to learn. This term the students are being offered fruit smoothies for recess. Some students like them! They have requested more carrot soup so that is also still on the menu for recess snack.
The message in the picture is a good one for all of us to remember. If you are feeling down or lonely, below are contact numbers for people who can help you. If you want to yarn with someone my door is always open.
Just let the front office know you are here to see me.
Bye for now, Cathy Jones
